About MotoRetard

MotoRetard started from a desire to see better motorcycle news and coverage on the internet. It comes from a love of all things two wheeled with a motor. I wanted to see cool motorcycle stuff on the internet but there was no one place to go to see it all. The few news sites out there don’t update regularly or require a subscription or only cater to one type of audience. If you want a job done right, you just gotta do it yourself…

The name MotoRetard is a play on the word “motard” (a combination of motocross/road racing popular in Europe). MotoRetard is about being retarded for motorcycles - a one track mind, drooling and obsessing over chrome, rubber, and that special smell of gasoline and oil. I also mean no offense to mentally handicapped people or people with Down’s syndrome. For better or worse, “retarded” has come to mean many things in our language other than “slow”. If you have problems with that, go read some other website.

About The Author

My name is Erik Zempel and I’m a 27 year old male from Ypsilanti, Michigan. I dream about life on two wheels. I have two bikes, that usually require more wrenching time than riding time, but some day soon I hope to change all that. I am married to a beautiful, understanding, and wonderful wife, Erin, and have two awesome chihuahuas. My day job is in Information Technology in the public education sector, and I also work nights running the sound for bands at the Elbow Room bar.
